Terms of service
The rules, in plain English.
Last updated
The short version
- Only analyze and track sites you own or have permission to work on.
- Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time and you keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
- Ask within 14 days of a first payment and we refund it. No questions, no retention call.
- We report what the AI engines actually said when we asked. We can’t promise they’ll cite you, and nobody honest can.
- Your prompts, brands and reports are yours. We don’t sell them or train models on them.
A summary, not the agreement — the numbered sections below are the ones that count.
1 Agreeing to these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Kwotable, which operates kwotable.io. Using the site — including running a single free scan without an account — means you accept them. If you don’t, don’t use it.
If you’re agreeing on behalf of a company, you’re confirming you have authority to bind it. Our privacy policy covers how we handle personal data and forms part of this agreement.
2 What Kwotable does
The analyzer fetches a publicly reachable URL and scores how readable and citable it is to AI answer engines, across crawler access, content structure, structured data, authority and freshness, and technical setup. The scoring is deterministic: the same page in the same state gets the same score.
Visibility tracking takes the prompts you configure and runs them against third-party AI answer engines on a schedule, then reports whether your brand appeared and which URLs were cited. What each plan includes — prompts, engines, frequency, brands — is set out on the pricing page, and the limits there are enforced by the server.
We may add, change or retire features. If a change removes something material from a plan you’re paying for, we’ll tell you before it happens and you can cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
3 Your account
- Use an email address you actually control — it’s how you sign in and how we send alerts and reports.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you give access to.
- One account per person or business. Don’t share credentials to work around plan limits.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.
You must be at least 16 years old, or old enough to enter a contract where you live, whichever is higher.
4 Acceptable use
The rules here exist to keep the service cheap and to keep us from becoming a nuisance to the rest of the web.
- Only submit URLs you own, or that you’re authorized to audit — for example as a client’s freelancer or agency.
- Don’t use the analyzer to load-test, overwhelm or probe a site you don’t control.
- Don’t script, scrape or otherwise automate the service beyond the limits of your plan, and don’t try to defeat the rate limits.
- Don’t resell raw Kwotable output as if it were your own competing service. Sharing white-label reports with your own clients on the Pro plan is exactly what that feature is for, and is fine.
- Don’t use prompts or brand names that are illegal, infringing, or aimed at harassing someone.
- Don’t attempt to reverse-engineer, break, or gain unauthorized access to the service or the accounts of other users.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it’s practical and the breach isn’t serious, we’ll ask you to stop first.
5 Plans, billing and renewal
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we’re required to add at checkout.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled.
- Every plan covers one brand. Additional brands are an add-on on Pro at $39/month each, billed on the same interval as the plan, and they track weekly.
- Cancel any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We don’t pro-rate partial periods.
- If a payment fails we’ll retry and email you. Persistent non-payment downgrades the account to Free, and tracking stops.
- If we change prices, existing subscribers get at least 30 days’ notice and the new price applies from the following renewal, never mid-term.
6 The lifetime deal
The launch offer is a one-time payment of $249 that grants the Indie plan, at Indie limits, for as long as Kwotable operates as a service. It’s limited to the first 100 customers.
Being straight about the edges of that word: it doesn’t include higher tiers or add-ons, it isn’t transferable or resellable, and if we ever shut the service down it ends with the service. We’d give as much notice as we could. It is refundable on the same terms as anything else below.
7 Refunds
Ask within 14 days of your first payment on a plan — subscription or lifetime — and we’ll refund it in full. Email hello@kwotable.io; you don’t need a reason and we won’t argue.
After that window, renewals aren’t automatically refundable, because you had a full period to decide. That said, if something genuinely went wrong on our side, write to us anyway — we’d rather fix it than keep the money.
If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Starting to use the paid features immediately means you’re asking us to begin the service during that period; the refund above matches or exceeds that right either way, and nothing here removes it.
8 The free plan
The free analyzer is limited to 10 scans per day per user, with re-scans of the same URL served from cache. Those limits can change, and the free plan comes with no availability commitment.
We can rate-limit, throttle or block free usage that looks automated or abusive, without notice.
9 What we can and can’t promise
This is the section that matters most, so we’ve written it plainly.
- The score is our assessment, not a verdict. It measures signals we can verify on your page. A high score means your site is technically readable and citable — not that any engine will cite it.
- AI engines are non-deterministic. The same prompt can return different answers minutes apart, on the same engine. Tracking tells you what an engine said when we asked, not what it will always say.
- We don’t guarantee citations, rankings, traffic or revenue. Anyone selling you guaranteed AI visibility is selling you something they can’t deliver.
- We depend on third parties. Engines change models, pricing, rate limits and access policies without telling us. If one becomes unavailable or unaffordable, we may have to change or drop it, and we’ll tell you if that affects your plan.
- Missed runs. If a scheduled run fails because an engine is down, we pick it up on the next scheduled pass where we can. A skipped run isn’t a refundable event on its own.
10 Your content and ours
Yours stays yours. The URLs, brand names, competitors, prompts and generated reports in your account belong to you. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store that content, send your prompts to the answer engines, and produce your results and reports.
We don’t sell your content and we don’t use it to train AI models. Prompts sent to third-party engines are subject to those providers’ own terms.
Ours stays ours. The site, the software, the scoring methodology, the report templates and the Kwotable name and marks are ours. White-label reports let you remove our branding from a client deliverable; they don’t transfer ownership of anything.
If you send us feedback or a feature idea, we can use it without owing you anything for it. We appreciate it all the same.
11 Availability
We aim to keep Kwotable up and fast, but no plan comes with a formal uptime guarantee or SLA. There will be maintenance, and occasionally there will be outages, some of them not ours.
These are indie prices for an indie product. Support runs through email on a best-effort basis; there are no guaranteed response times on any plan.
12 Suspension and termination
You can cancel or delete your account at any time from your settings. Deleting an account removes your data as described in the privacy policy; export anything you want to keep first.
We can suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or use that threatens the service or other users. Except in serious cases, we’ll warn you first. If we terminate without cause, we’ll refund the unused portion of what you paid.
13 Liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost business opportunities. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
None of this limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything else that can’t be limited by law. If you’re a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, including analyzing or tracking sites you had no right to.
14 Changes to these terms
When these terms change we update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we’ll email account holders at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use Kwotable after a change takes effect means you accept the new version; if you don’t, cancel before then and we’ll refund the unused period.
15 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer, this doesn’t deprive you of the protection of your own country’s mandatory consumer law, and you can also bring proceedings where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
